The City of Saint Paul has completed work on an Environmental Assessment Worksheet (EAW) for the Lowertown Ballpark. The ballpark will convert a vacant and polluted industrial site in Saint Paul's Lowertown district to a new ~7,000 seat ballpark serving state and regional needs for youth, amateur, and Saint Paul Saints baseball. This publicly-owned and privately supported ballpark is anticipated to host over 160 events and entertain approximately 400,000 visitors per year.
The EAW was conducted by the City's Department of Planning and Economic Development. Staff reviewed information related to traffic impacts, water quality, vehicle emissions, visual impacts, noise and odor issues, and other potential impacts as well as public comments collected at an open house and through other feedback channels.
