Young Adults- Youth Job Corps
Overview
The Youth Job Corps- Young Adult (YJC-YA) program is designed for young adults 18-24 who are interested in career exploration and summer employment. The jobs created through the YJC-YA provide needed community services during the summer months with work sites scattered throughout the City. Qualified candidates for this program will have the opportunity to work in a variety of industries
Jobs Available
- Assignments vary from government agencies, hospitals, summer camps, non-profits, small businesses, law firms, museums, sports and retail organizations.
- When completing the application you will be asked about your interests. We will make every effort to place you in a job that best meets your interests. We will also make every effort to place you at a work site no more than two miles from your home address.
- Applying to the YJC-YA program does not guarantee you employment.
Who is Eligible
Saint Paul and Ramsey County residents, low-income young adults who will be 18 by June 15th, 2009, but no older than 24 by June 15th, 2009.
What Are The Wages?
Ages 18-19 are paid $6.25 an hour.
Ages 19-24 are paid $7.50 an hour.
How Many Hours Do YJC-YA Workers Work?
YJC-YA workers average 20-25 hours per week.
When Does It Start?
Most jobs will begin June 15th, 2009 and end September 4, 2009.
