The City of Saint Paul's City Clerk’s Office is responsible for:
  • Managing the record-keeping functions for all City Council actions 
  • Managing the administrative updating of the:
    • Saint Paul Charter
    • Legislative Code
    • Administrative Code
  • Overseeing the election contract with Ramsey County
  • Administering domestic partnership registrations
  • Acting as the responsible authority for City data-practices requests
  • Assisting City staff and the general public in researching information regarding City Council actions. 
  • Publishing:
    • Public notices
    • Ordinances
    • City actions requiring notification


On behalf of the City of Saint Paul, the City Clerk's Office receives the filings of:

  • Claims
  • Summons
  • Petitions
