Overview
Saint Paul Parks and Recreation operates Phalen Beach, Highland Park Aquatic Center and our year-round indoor facility Great River Water Park.
Our facilities offer programs for all ages. Aquatics programs include: swimming & diving lessons, water aerobics, lap swimming, junior lifeguarding, and general open swim.
Our Phalen Lakeside Activities Center offers unique opportunities to learn boating skills in the Sailing classes.

Great River Water Park, Highland Park Aquatic Center and Phalen Park Beach now open for the 2010 summer season! (Great River Water Park June 12 - September 5(closed Labor Day), Highland Park Aquatic Center June 12 - September 6 and Phalen Beach - June 12 - August 22)

Sphagnum Moss Information
In 2009 the City of Saint Paul and Creative Water Solutions, LLC. introduced a new commercial filtration technique using Sphagnum Moss in addition to the chlorine based filtration system already in use. The initial results have been amazing. The pools all have better water quality, clarity, and as well a reduction in chlorine use and cost. This makes for a more natural swimming experience as the Sphagnum Moss treated water is better on your skin, hair, swim suit and best of all your eyes. Frequent swimmers have noted their eyes do not burn anymore when they swim. Come experience our 'great water' at the Great River Water Park to find out what everyone is talking about.
